Before Midnight utspelar sig ett sommarsoligt dygn i Grekland, och är tredje delen i en filmtrilogi (Bara en natt 1995, Bara en dag 2004) där vi med nio års mellanrum får göra nerslag i relationen mellan Céline ( Julie Delpy) och Jesse (Ethan Hawke).
